aewanabe ....this guy should not be consided a representative of those from Midwest. I would hope that your screening HR department can weed such people out.

Looks like the Midwest MEC showed as much "mutual respect" as your EXCO did. Let someone come in and take your job, fly your colors and use your name and I bet you won't be kissing them on the lips either.

Capt. David Bourne Speaks at Republic-Midwest Crewmembers Rally | International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)

Also from ALPA:

Pilots Rally and Picket to Protest Outsourcing of Midwest Jobs
More than 100 Midwest pilots and pilots from a number of ALPA-represented groups picketed at MKE on Wednesday to enhance public awareness of management’s outsourcing of Midwest jobs. Wednesday, October 1 marked the start of scheduled service for the EMB-170s.

Later that day, pilots from ASA, ASTAR, Atlas, Compass, Continental, Delta, ExpressJet, PSA, and United, among others, joined Midwest pilots, flight attendants, and their families at a rally in front of Midwest Airlines corporate headquarters. ALPA President John Prater, ALPA First Vice President Paul Rice, and ALPA SPSC Chairman Mike Donatelli addressed the crowd of 200 with the message that the 53,000 ALPA pilots are standing behind Midwest pilots in our fight to protect our jobs. AFA Midwest Airlines Chapter President Toni Higgins, Teamsters Airline Division Director David Bourne, and Detroit Teamsters Local 299 President Kevin Moore also spoke to rally attendees, expressing their support for Midwest pilots and flight attendants.

I can't speak to the talks between union leadership... I wasn't there. But I can say what I would have done as the Republic EXCO.

1. Press release protesting any actions by TPG or BB to whip-saw the pilot groups.
2. A letter to the Midwest MEC offering to share information about where the Midwest-Republic deal is going.
3. Work on and/or offer a joint LOA for Midwest pilots until integration is completed.
4. Joint membership meetings in MKE, IND, and DEN. Discussion the ways the different unions can work together and how other areas will have to remain separate until integration is complete.
5. A monthly news letter signed by all the union leaders about issues being handled at all the unions.

In my opinion, the Republic EXCO fell asleep at the controls, or directed this integration into a power play verses a merger of the unions. Vote FAPA.

To add some fuel to the fire, I will say I have talked to a few of my Republic friends, all captains. I have to laugh because a FEW of them were telling me how they are treated like mainline and feel like mainline. I asked "how so?" They responded by saying how their aircraft is never weight restricted, the passenger roller boards fit in the overhead, and they are Midwest and Frontier (e.g. no Express painted on the side). I didn't respond as they are my friends and I didn't feel like arguing. It amazes me that they bigger airplane makes them forget that they only make 3 dollars/hour more than their 50 seater counter-parts. The majority that I talk to have no sympathy for the Midwest pilots. They feel that the Midwest pilots should have chose a more stable company.

Capt David Bourne was there because some Midwest pilots were running a de-certification drive to kick ALPA out and IBT in. They decided not to file... I think IBT had a number of problems at 747.

He only wanted our money!

ps. I believe (rumor) they had enough cards to file.

What's sad is your raise next month to $37/hour is the last raise you will see in years. Enjoy it. You've earned it my man.
