So I have a question for any US Air guys on here. Obviously there is not currently a reg pertaining to use/availability of restrooms on flights. But does US Air have a company policy on how long a flight can go without ANY of the Lavs working on board?

I'm not USAir, but would assume the maintenance dispatch manual for the particular fleet type would answer that question. Common sense would dictate refusal of the airplane unless evacuating an airport under attack.

Yes. The MEL says how many lavs you need to dispatch based on the length of flight.
You probably could go will all of them out if it was oh, say, a 30 minute flight.
I don't have a MEL in front of me so I cannot say for sure. I do know it is up to the captain to go with the 1st class (front) lav inop due to crew security issues. What was the story?

I am a furloughed A320 pilot, who now has to purchase tickets to go on vacation. I think me holding my **** for 4 hours is not a rumor. So before you make your third post a useless one, think a little bit before you post.
I got the answer I was looking for. I'm not on a crusade to lynch, it was for my own curiosity. Comparing MEL language if you will.

Hey Bored,
I'm asking you to think before you post.
If you would take any aircraft on a four hour trip to Mexico (this time of year, spring break, full aircraft) with no lavs, then you deserve to be furloughed.
I've done it with two lavs mel'd it was not pretty even on a 2 1/2 hour flight. But all three? Use some common sense. Even my airline wouldn't (couldn't) dispatch like that.

1) I was going on vacation as a passenger.
2) 10K PA comes on and notifies us that all of the Lavs are closed and not operational.
3) Philly to CUN is 4 hours long.
So let me sum this up. I WAS ON (NOT PILOTING, NOT IN COMMAND, NOT EVEN IN THE COCKPIT, I WAS 12 ROWS FROM THE FRONT ON A PURCHASED TICKET) A FLIGHT TO CANCUN, WHERE GOING THROUGH 10K THEY NOTIFIED US THAT ALL LAVS WOULD BE OUT OF SERVICE FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE FLIGHT.
Can I make it any clearer or do I need to type it out in a different language for you?
So again you make a {EDIT****}of yourself by suggesting I was the one flying it and that I deserve to be furloughed because of it. Go back to whatever whole you climbed out of. Flight info?
