Maybe this is a sign of things to come. ALPA locals making national irrelevant if national doesn't tow the local's line.

Read slowly and for comprehension, gopher chaser. Mike Abram is ALPA's General Counsel. Now go back and read Jay Pierce's message.

Who filed the grievance? ALPA national, or CALPA?

Dude you are so wrong about me it is laughable. Find me a post where I am a DPA apologist and/or supporter. Go ahead.. I'll wait.

I am for the debate that DPA brings. Nothing more. You are wrapped all around the alpa little finger. You're scared.

That's a good question. Not just who technically filed, but what was ALPA National's "advice" on it to the local(s)?

Even if it was hoo rah let's win this grievance, it could still just be so that it can be "sold" later for a slightly bigger cookie. Why give it away when you can sell it (and then some?)

I really want to be optimistic about the outcome, but there is much, much more to be written in this chapter and how it ends up will be huge. Even if ALPA National (and UCAL locals for that matter) "fought the good fight" on this one they should still be watched like a hawk, now more than ever because with the "winning" of this grievance comes the potential opportunity for more profession gutting "bargaining credit" style treachery. No one should let their guard down on this because of the result of this one snapshot of this crucial issue.

DPA self imposed deadline to have enough cards to call for a election is today. They stated in their website that they needed it done by now in order to properly represent the pilots in the coming contract and build a war chest. Do they have the cards or not? Will they end their effort and try to work with DALPA to provide the very best contract possible or work to their own self interests?

I don't think they do. DPA being adequately prepared for Sec 6 is not my only concern. I really don't think they can handle a lot larger, looming issues such as cabatoge, foreign ownership, & fighting off the likes of Emirates & Quantas. We as a pilot group have a lot more to worry about then restoration.

I think we can walk and chew gum at the same time. Restoration is extremely important, as are the other issues you brought up.

I agree. I just want people to think about everything. Some people do get tunnel vision.

No it is NOT today. You should know better, nice try though... DPA has several months left until deadline and it looks like we are way ahead of that point in time.
