Hyperbole? Now that's funny. Go look back at your posts on this thread. Without hyperbole, you'd be left with just punctuation.

He's asking legitimate questions that neither you nor DPA can answer.

Who is asking a question? And what is said question.

Quote feature people... use it if you want the conversation to make any sense...

I was responding to the post directly before, from Carl. The reference was to karnak's questions. It think they're legitimate. I think the discussion of the DPA should include answers to them. Based on a quick scan of previous posts, here are the questions karnak raised:

From post #3602: What organizations are giving money to DPA, and why?

What law firm has DPA retained, and what is there background in labor affairs?

Why isn't DPA being as transparent as ALPA?

From post #3606: Is it too soon to start putting the DPA leadership under the same microscope? Would it be fair to post TC's decisions/actions/statements here, and scrutinize them?

From post #3634: If so, please help me ask DPA about the exact same problems you have with ALPA.Who's doing what? How much are they being paid? Are they hiring anybody with a conflict of interest?

The organization was started in May. I think their efforts at getting the requisite number of cards would be improved if they would announce a large percentage of cards to date. I think their efforts would be crippled if they announced a very small percentage, or a percentage that was well below their forecast.

They haven't announced any numbers, so I'm going to guess they aren't doing well.

What's your guess?

I've got got some questions too..

1) Where was ALPA when JFK got shot? Some say they were the second gunman on the grassy knoll.

2) Why is ALPA not transparent when people ask what is happening in Area 51? They always remain silent....makes you wonder.

Things to think about...

Those are legitimate questions.. I guess... But why don't one of you answer my question? Why are you so afraid of ALPA having to justify it's monopolistic existence? What is so wrong with having a debate as to why those that are representing us are doing so in a particular way.. and more importantly, their impetus for moving us in a particular direction? Many are concerned about the OBVIOUS conflict of interest that exists at national. You cannot deny that it DOES exist. I can cite an example of where the moustache wasn't able to comment on a DOJ ruling because of a conflict between DAL and UAL... So there are many out here that want to know why we are paying for "national" representation, and what that "representation" is doing for us. As I have said many times, I do not think anything will come of DPA, but I do want to let the leadership at alpa know loud and clear that their days of elitism and non-accountability are over. Notice I said I want them to know this... whether they take the message to heart is to be seen. I'm not holding my breath.

All of these have been asked and answered many times in the last 3600 plus posts. If you and Karnak had been paying attention since then, you would know this. But here we go again:

What organizations are giving money to DPA, and why? Delta pilots that have turned in their cards. Any other dumb questions?

What law firm has DPA retained, and what is there background in labor affairs? It would be absolutely silly for them to disclose that at this point. It doesn't matter, because that firm may or may not be retained if/when a new elected leadership of DPA takes office. Plus it just gives the ALPA elves a target to smear whoever is publicly associated with DPA.

Why isn't DPA being as transparent as ALPA? Seriously? The lack of straight forward communication from national is one of the biggest problems here. No straight answer on 1500 hour rule, duty time rule, scope restoration...and the list goes on. Ask them a hard question, and the answer is: "Can't disclose this because blah, blah, blah, we're members of the committee, blah, blah, we've signed non-disclosure agreements, blah, blah. That's not to say that ALPA's bad behavior should be copied by DPA...it shouldn't.

Is it too soon to start putting the DPA leadership under the same microscope? Would it be fair to post TC's decisions/actions/statements here, and scrutinize them? You can if you want, but it's a waste of time to do so. Why? Because the current leadership of DPA will almost assuredly NOT be the ones ultimately elected by the Delta pilots. The leaders will have to run and campaign for their offices. THAT'S the time to put them under the microscope.

If so, please help me ask DPA about the exact same problems you have with ALPA.Who's doing what? How much are they being paid? Are they hiring anybody with a conflict of interest? It's not about DPA's problems with ALPA...it's about the DELTA PILOTS problems with ALPA. A grass roots organization like DPA doesn't get started in a vacuum. It happens because of a large dissatisfaction amongst the rank and file. Is it enough to produce 51% of cards? We'll see.
