That sounds like it represent the average of all the people I have talked with too. Good thing the pilots who have never heard of DPA gets the news too.

No idea. They just told me they wrote them asking for their card to be pulled. I have not heard what the response has been from DPA.

Many of them first and foremost though it was the wrong time for an independent drive and ALPA would better serve us going in to C2012.

DAL 88, As my comments indicate, these are guys I figured would not pull their cards. They did. I am surprised. They just wanted to let me know. No more no less. Some gave the reason above, some just told me to give em a shout some time. I have been gone for two weeks enjoying my family. Just got home, and if I get the time I will get em a shout. I see trips in the pot that it appears they cannot cover, so I dropped a GS in to see if I can get 20 some hrs of pay for little to no work.

Pretty stupid to pull your yard, IMO. What does it accomplish? Nothing. The card simply brings it up to a vote.

Hey, I know you're busy... but if you get time, would you mind answering the following questions? -

Also, I'm glad to see that you are interested in "their deeper reasoning" for doing this. Do you have the same interest in the "deeper reasoning" of the guys who have sent in cards and not asked them to be pulled?

Isn't the card a type of vote?

A vote to bring about a vote, sure.

Pretty stupid to send in a card if you don't believe DPA is a better option to begin with. IMO

If you don't want DPA, you'd have no reason to send in a card. By sending in a card, you're saying either that you do want DPA or you're intrigued by the idea of DPA and want to give the idea a broader hearing.

Either way, you're voting.

Regardless of whether guys are pulling their cards or not, we're approaching the point where the first cards sent in will expire. That was the point at which the PPA movement imploded in the late 90's.

Yep - and considering that their website shows local base reps in only 2 of 9 bases, I can only draw two possible explanations:

1) they aren't being nearly as transparent as they wish ALPA to be, or
2) they don't have nearly as many cards as they wish they had

Anonymous movements never gain much traction; this appears to be no different. And the worst part is, SOME of their points have merit. But their methods destined them to failure.
