Not really. It was like going to the park with a puppy or a baby. This thing was way cool to kids, and where there is a kid... there is a mother.
Now, the truth is that the kid I was trying to impress most was mine, and her mother is mighty fine.
So no, I can't say I ever saw any adverse effects on my masculinity from flying that 737...

No. Serious. When do they come out with their new paint jobs? This is just temporary, right?

Sadly I am sure this is the real deal until the next CEO comes along and decides how lackluster this is. I was in MSP today and saw a ERJ 145 with the winglets, so I assume it is Express Jet, painted already. Continental tail logo and UNITED Express written in the same font on the side.

All CAL planes need new writing in a new font (could be a temporary sticker, there actually are wraps available for jets...
UAL has 2 schemes going, battleship grey and the new blue/white one
they would have to repaint all the battleship grey ones anyways.
Cheers

I'm still digging the cross old school UAL and CAL schemes with the UAL tail instead of the globe. They say you should never change your symbol and the airline is named UAL so... UAL symbol should stay and globe goes.
If it was an effort to make everyone feel as if it was their airline, fail. Its just confusing.
Of course, I'm not sure if its better to chose from both schemes, to chose only 1 or to start fresh with something totally different and a new name. I think in the world of international business you don't change the name and UAL has more weight in that category. Who knows, but its still a big failed attempt unless it is indeed temporary.

It is all about money.
It is less expensive to paint the CAL fleet with U N I T E D on the side than repaint all the CAL fleet PLUS the remainder of the United grey fleet. Think of it this way: less money spent on paint, more money available for the pilot contract.
