We can all hope so. I doubt SWA management would tolerate some nonsense large RJ order outsourcing contract and then dare tell the SWA pilot group "aw too bad homies, the deal is already done so go ahead and loosen up that pesky contract for us...but don't worry it will lead to more mainline jobs!" and even if they did try that, I would think that SWAPA wouldn't fall for it like others have in the past.

Gloopy,
There is irrefutable evidence of how cancerous codeshare is for the entire industry.
SWAPA has drawn the line in the sand: No Domestic Codeshare! Pay rates can change in the blink of an eye, but once codeshare is allowed, it's nearly impossible to contain.
Yea, I know we approved near international, it pains me (us).

Just received email from Union.
Details to come.
This morning, at approximately 2:00 a.m., your Negotiating Committee and AirTran management reached a tentative agreement on a new contract. The tentative agreement is subject to careful review of language for a few miscellaneous contract provisions and Letters of Agreement, approval by the MEC and membership ratification.
The MEC will consider and vote whether to approve the TA next week. If approved, the agreement will be put out for ratification by the membership during November. There are significant improvements in pay, work rules, benefits and other important areas of the collective bargaining agreement. The MEC will soon announce dates, times and locations for contract road shows and to provide more information about the MEC’s plans to undertake the other important steps related to transition and seniority integration.
The MEC and the negotiating team thank you for your strong support during this lengthy process. We look forward to sharing the details of the agreement and our going forward plans with you over the coming weeks.

Congrats Guys (& Gals)! My hopes for you are an industry leading contract. Same for UAL/CAL contract talks, and AMR. Our industry has been (HAD BEEN) heading in the wrong direction for waaay too long. Nice job, AirTran!

It won't be a blended contract. Those parts may be added to the SWA contract in the next Section 6--but thw SWAPA contract will be the contract once the merger is complete.

It will be a blended contract. There are some parts of our CBA that SWA wants (our B fund and no JA, for example).
I don't know what will happen in the SLI, all this posturing is futile as it will go to arbritration any way. So many SWA folks are mad as hell it seems. I'm hearing lot's of folks talking about a no vote. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Me personally, I'm looking forward to moving to Atlanta. I've got family there and it would be nice to be near them. Best of luck to everyone.

Hear hear! I wish scheduling would unmask their number so that I knew to answer a JA call. Now that it's double time for JA it can be a real cash cow.
I know a Capt who made $4600 for one day this summer on JA.
The B fund sounds like a great idea. Getting the company to agree to it may be tough though.
