Obviously jB'ers don't want one, because it's been over a decade and pilot contracts still seem to be the standard, but what gives?

Thanks in advance for the schooling...

I have the E-170/190 type, ATP and around 2900 total with around 1200 turbine 121 time with an internal reccomendation at JetBlue. I am confused as all heck as to why I was rejected. Is my background really that bad or could it be that since they won't be hiring as much as they thought, that they are picking those with higher hours? This is turning out to be the worst Christmas for me and my family. First working the holiday on reserve, making only $1600 TOTAL this month and now my only light at the end of the tunnel has been shut off.

Sorry to be a bummer just had to vent a little, my very best wishes and best of luck to all of you still in the pool or already in class. You're with a GREAT company that will continue to be very successful and will treat you like the gold that you are! Merry Christmas everyone!
I can imagine your disappointment and the way you must be feeling right now and I empathize with you. All of the build up and excitement, followed by a long wait and then finally a rejection letter has to be tough. Try to hang in there and stay positive, although I know it must be hard. Many people on this forum can be harsh with their comments.... don't let it get to you. Hope the New Year brings some better things your way!

Hang in there, get your stuff back in when you can. I personally know two guys who got in on the second run through.

Good Luck

Merry Christmas!

I'd like to thank you all who had ENCOURAGING and UPLIFTING things to say to me, that means a lot to me and my family. I'm not even going to bother responding to those with the Ba-Humbug attitude, they don't deserve a response. As you all recommended I will re-apply in 6 months since JetBlue is where I want to be. The excitement I felt after the interview increased my desire 100 fold as well as your encouraging comments! I hope I get the chance to fly with you soon. Have a GREAT New Year and blue skies ahead, take care!

Benairguitar....I would not be to down about it...2900 hrs is just not going to get you in the door...are you a capt. on the emb 170/190. If not, then the type rating wont be any help....If you are than rack up that pic time because that is what makes you competitive....I would guess that 5500 total with 1500 pic in the emb170/190 will get you a spot at jblu....hang in there....tbe first couple of interviews are always just for practice anyway

Why'd they even invite you if you're not competitive? Just to send you home? Waste everyone's time? Just curious on people's thoughts as to why an invite if you didn't have a chance because of your total time or lacking PIC time. Maybe it's how the person interviews and the perception throughout the process.

...I have to agree. Wouldn't make much sense to invite someone out, that didn't meet your criteria.

...but 1,000+ turbine PIC would surely help too!!

Just got the "hold your britches" email from recruitment. I was hoping to get a class. Ill keep waiting just like the email said. They haven't forgotten, classes will continue through Q1 and if you don't want to wait you can cry "Uncle!".
