It's not about the pilots, flight attendants, rampers, agents, etc. It's about them taking a risk and getting rewarded for it. When will you people realize that. As long as they treat me fairly, compensate me fairly and hopefully give me a place to work until I retire that's all I can ask for. I work for them, they don't work for me. If I get to a point that I don't like it then I will leave. Please tell me, what is fair wages and benefits for this job?? To work half a month and make over 6 figures seems pretty damn good to me. Let's be truthful, we aren't that special and most anyone can do this job. Yes it's skilled labor but anyone with the money can go out and get the skills. I don't think we are the most productive, but I think we are better than average. We aren't the highest paid but I think we are at least average or above average. You can work as little as 70 hours or as much as 100 hours and depending on the trip 150+ hours per month. No where else can you do this. Premium pay over 78 hours, full credit for DH, etc. It's more than just what the hourly pay scale says. I contribute 5% to my 401K, JB gives me 5% match plus another 5% profit sharing bonus for a total of 10%. How much more do you expect? Please tell me how we are underpaid in comparison to everyone else. Almost everyone else you want to compare us to has given up work rules, took paycuts, retirement hits, furloughed, downsized, etc.
Absolutely amazing. The MIT study is used as a reference by EVERY airline in determining compensation. Jetblue has a 5% 401K. The 5% deposited at the end of the year is neither guaranteed nor does it account for the compound interest. Industry standards is 13-16% monthly. The grants received by management have reduced the share price almost 75% by dilution. This affects all of us! Even in bankruptcy and pay cuts every major airline has a better 401K match than we do, better LTD/STD than we do, some have B funds(we have none), sick and vacation banks. Good for you for being pleased with your company but we are THE most productive and we are compensated well below everyone else even though they are operating in bankruptcy contracts.

It's pathetic that you think everyone else is worth more to do the same job.

For the record all the information is out there. We are not industry standard. Even the latest pay review from B. Perry reflects this. Stop listening to JB management and do some research for yourself. Have some respect for your yourself.

Did you know that you pay 20% more for health insurance than every other carrier. Did you know when you are on LTD Jetblue makes you pay your own COBRA insurance payments? For Crewcare1 thats $1500 per month. For CrewCare2 thats $1000. No other carrier makes you do that. But Jetblue who (as you put it) hasn't given up work rules, took paycuts, retirement hits, furloughed, downsized, etc. does. How's that for an ethical company that touts values.

Do you think other major carriers have this issue? NO

This is what is so aggravating about our pilot group. Most of you are clueless of how far behind we are. You take Jetblues word without verifying an of the information.

Lake Alice you are a rabble rouser. Start a new thread labeled "How I am so smart and will tell you everything I don't know about nothing and JetBlue".

The truth hurts the blue-juicers. They can't fathom JetBlue isn't the utopia the believe.

I would take a WAG and say there are close to 150 in the pool taking into account the Oct and Nov interviews. If they hire 150 through june then that would be on pace for 300/year. I dont doubt what the CP said, but seems to not add up

You seem very disguntled with JB and annoyed that others do not nessarily agree with your veiw point. As this is a public forum I understand your desire to press your veiwpoint. Unfortunately reference to blue-juicers and expounding that your view is the only truth denudes your arguement and hurts your message

For the record I don't listen to anything from JB management I draw my own conclusion from what I have experienced. Talk to Delta they think they have it the worst, same from American, United/Continental, same from US Air, America West....blah blah blah the list goes on. Truthfully I've never read or studied any reports MIT has done. Sounds like it's a great resource/guide. The profit sharing is guaranteed 5% so while it may not be compounded interest (yet another reason for you to *****, ie: jetblue is giving us profit sharing but i'm still not happy because it should be more) it is a bonus that goes into our retirement account. It's apparent some of you will never be happy. I've spoken my mind. Please, go get hired by someone else so I can move up the seniority list quicker. And one last note LA...I'm sure that wasn't your attitude when you came to work here. Since you are so smart then why are you still here? Because you can't get hired anywhere else probably.

Let me ax ya'll a question. I know little about JBlue other than the times I have ridden on them they have been very nice. I certainly hope that my airline reciprocates in that regard. But after watching the AirTran guys being totally taken to the woodshed by both a management team that treated them like a hindrance to their plan, AND a union that had the advantage of a management team like they did... with all the talk of more industry consolidation, are you at all concerned about a fragmentation/merger policy were JetBlue to enter into a merger agreement with ANYONE? Sorry for run on sentence..

I'm here because I missed the 99 bubble and my post 9-11 class dates were postponed. I like my job but I'm frustrated with a pilot group that refuses to do for itself what all others seem to. When you have a chance read the MIT study and read the latest Delta pilot comparison. We are behind, we are way behind. The pilot group needs to step up and do something about it.
