Actually, the time of posts is more telling. For you------>Today, 02:14 AM
What gives dude? Facebook not happening that time of night?

But while you're at it, feel free to go back and review the posts by Forgot and TSquare and tell me how many of them have anything to do with the subject.
I've been following this whole thread and the only thing I find in common is the pompous attitude displayed by the Southwest pilots.

TSquare is lucky if he can get off a complete sentence. His posts are mostly, "He he he he..." or "C'mon guys, don't let this thread die.." or telling me that my opinion didn't matter because of my username and avatar. Click on his username and look at the lack of wisdom he's added to this thread. We are all dumber for having read his posts.
And bitter for having read yours.

This thread ceased being useful a long time ago and has only been kept on life-support two DAL-SWA conflict junkies. Pull the needle out of the vein dudes.
Get over yourself, you're really not that important.

I promise not to post if you guys go back to your families.
Then what on earth will you do with yourself at 2am?

oh geez, lets get over it. Any more opinions on the sli perhaps? Like some previous posts, I would have to agree on some ratio from 92(?) on with sw. Somebody had posted i think this thread or on cage thread that sw may have something else up their sleeve with atl?! Any ideas? I welcome anyone, bid, tsquare, one engine, etc. Take care everyone

That's a windfall for the top Southwest pilots at the expense of the senior Air Tran pilots. The senior Southwest pilots would gain another domicile, greater variety of flying, etc, while the top Air Tran pilot goes from bidding #1 to bidding 15% (?) for lines, vacation, etc.

Since everyone is making predictions, here is mine.

Tennessee loses their home opener in September.

Giggity.

Reminds me of a Republic FO complaing that after the merger with NWA he was only getting 60% of CA pay instead of 70%.
I had to remind him that he was now getting 60% of a dollar instead of 70% of 75 cents.

That brings up a question for SWA pilots, how many pilots are pre-1993 hires? 15%?

ATL? What's the difference between a major focus city and a hub anyways when all you do is domestic flying? Will SWA grow ATL over what AAI had? Maybe, maybe not. AAI ran a traditional hub and spoke and had their markets developed while SWA might usurp some of that feed anyways with direct flights to FL for instance from midwest and northern destinations. Who knows. I bet no substantial or noticeable growth until they've tested the waters of their new focus on business travelers.

BTW, what is a business traveler anyways? You don't have to tell anyone you're traveling for business when you buy a ticket. To me it's just raising the prices on flights that match business travel patterns and then trying to offer a frequent flier program to make up for those higher rates.

But lines and vacation are base and seat oriented. If AAI wants to protect ATL then I'd argue for a fence, otherwise, people can bid in and out but not sure if you can be involuntarily pushed out just because someone wants it. I don't know was SWA rules are. But doesn't AAI have a lot of commuters anyways who might want to bid to closer SWA base?

Wow, I didn't know I made such an impression on a fighter pilot. I am humbled.

Thanks for the entertainment.

JMHO... One could argue that standpoint, and you would have a point. But it would be hard to argue that since ATI has only been in existance since 1992?? So it would be difficult to rationalize placing them in front of pre 1992 SWA pilots. All that being said, with the fleet commonality that you will have, fences are stupidity. I have made the point that at DAL/NWA, the fences on the 777/747 really didn't protect anybody because the ones being "protected" are the guys at the top of the food chain anyway. There are some fairly junior FOs that have been able to bid the equipment, but when the fences fall, they will be junior for the rest of their natural lives on the airplane. I guess if you have a woody for the category, it is a good thing, but being junior sucks, and number 9000 in the right seat of the whale won't hold a line for 15 years... Point is, that the fences IMO.. did little good other than to stagnate some areas.. Take it FWIW...

Not going out on a limb here, but sailingfun hit it outta the park.
