Anybody heard of what is happening to Custom Air Transport (CAT)? They are based out of Florida and I heard via coworkers that they furlouged their pilots in June or July. Just thought I would ask if anyone had any information about them.
Thanks.
Thanks.

All but a few pilots have been furloughed. Bulk of their aircraft are being parted out as parts separately are worth more than the entire aircraft itself. They fly a ACMI trips to keep their certificate alive. Other than that... no prosects for the immediate future.

The company provides aircraft, crews, fix their own planes, and insure them. They offer their services on a contract basis. Some of the more well known ACMI carriers are Atlas and Gemini.
An example of an ACMI operation is an Atlas aircraft painted in Emirates colors, flying Emirates routes, under a contract for a set amount of time. The plane is flown by Atlas pilots and the customer, Emirates, provides the cargo and pays for the fuel.

Hope it helps.
