It looks like guys are starting to take their money and jump off the ship while the market is near the high water point. There were no mandatory retirements for May, but it looks like around 25 guys retired. That is a big jump from April.

1800+ guys on the street.

1200+ guys havn't been offered recall. (600+ deferrals to get the 1800+?)

Any talk of what the Aug 1 work rules change will mean for those recalls?

Is anyone on here a TWA recent recall that never worked for AMR. What is the process, indoc etc, surprises? My seniority is 9700 ish the last time I checked and i was wondering if I could expect a recall this summer. I am currently deployed and might need to make a call to check, any contact info would be appreciated.

Since they have offered recall to around 9544. I would expect that you would get a call in a couple of months. The recalls get a shortened verison on indoc and the regular long course for aircraft trn.

Heard from a friend at AA: Said a scheduler told him all would be recalled soon and that hiring would start shortly thereafter due to the staffing requirements as a result of the new rest rules. Not sure how quickly they can get the 1800 remaining furloughed bodies in the door.

I'll believe it when I see it (and when I get the phone call from AA).

1800 pilots on furlough, yes. However, a very high percentage of the remaining pilots on furlough are likely to defer or never come back. AA has had to call a large number of furloughs to fill the June classes.

That is not really the case. I believe they only had to call around 20 people to fill the first June recall class. The good news is that there will be two classes in July as well. They expect to have a total of 25 between the two July classes.
