You may get 1-2 PRL Pre Release days each month, where a reserve day is removed, but you still get paid. That's typical on the less hectic, off season months like jan-apr or sep-oct. If you bid more than 3 days of reserve at a time, you are eligible for long call reserve. If you don't get used on LCR, then you stay at home in Denver. I have before had 16 days off on reserve with 1 PRL, and 2 unused LCR days, and 13 days off scheduled = net of 16 days off. Additionally you get 9 hours of PTO (Paid Time Off) time each month. Each reserve day is worth 4.2 hours. So if each month you PTO 2 reserve days, then plan on getting two more days off. This is all processed via the internet with instant results (Flica). If you PTO, get lucky with PRL, and get lucky with LCR, it's possible to get 17-18 days off on a well staffed month. Staffing is different for each base, position and plane right now.

Thanks to Flica (scheduling software) trading reserve days is also processed instantly on the internet and is very easy to do. Swapping your schedule around to group your reserve days together to minimize your commutes down to only 3 a month is fairly easy if you do it at the beginning of the month when the staffing numbers are in the green.

All in all, reserve is not that bad. Hope this additional information helps.
Is this information about jetBlue reserve and commuting still accurate?

I would say mostly, but we aren't seeing LCR as often in my view. Additionally, you can only have a max of 5 days on with a min of 2 off. Before Part 117 we could do 6on/1off. That helped with getting LCR more often, and allowed commuters to stack their days all together.

This. I hardly EVER see LCR on the list right now, even if we're at or over the min reserves. Then again, almost all of us actually live in base in MCO, so LCR isn't THAT big of a deal. When I was in BOS on reserve, I could almost always count on my first day of reserve being LCR, even if it was just a 4 day stretch. After that, I'd probably be SCR. Since I was commuting, if it looked like I was going to get moved to SCR or I was on SCR anyways (last two days of the block), I'd try to bid one of the trips in open time. It worked pretty well since I only saw my crashpad about 5 times in two months. That was about a year ago, though. The 6 on/1 off is apparently coming back, but it sounds like you'll have to FLiCA swap into it rather than pref bid it.

I'm on reserve in BOS and have not seen LCR in a couple months.

I got LCR last week but that was changed to a short call out a couple of hours after the next assignments were out. They just had to dangle it and then yank it back!
RSV here is still a great deal for locals. I did one turn last week and one the week before, home every night.

To the OP, keep in mind, LGA and EWR are backups. DEN to all three has a lot of flight options, Delta, SWA, JB, Frontier and UAL.
