What's funny though is one of the DGS guys I had on my 88 initial had written the FCTM for the 88. He said basically he was handed the 777 book and told to match that. So it was written in house to be a Boeing book.

?
Boeing Book says beacon should be on if the engine is turning at, or above, 2% N2. I pause now on the shutdown check to comply.

Probably good guidance anyway.

Story time. Pertinent though, I think.

Back at Coex a long time ago I thought I had damaged my ear drum and decided to go to the doctors office they had over on the CAL side. That way I could have a note to give Coex's CPO since they wanted to fire you for sick calls.

While waiting a ramper came in with a badly burned hand. Another ramper had escorted him over and told the nurse that after a 737 had pulled in that this guy touched the heated engine air inlet and as this guy said "left skin on the plane." I guess it must have been winter time btw.

When a second duo busted through the door with a mechanic literally carrying another who was bleeding from the head from a go-cart accident out on the ramp, I calmly got up and walked out.

Seriously, ear drum? I need something a little more manly than an ear drum.
