Any AA folks on here fly to La Paz, Bolivia? Interested in going down and wondering what your current policies are regarding offline J/S to South America and if there are weight restriction issues or anything like that. Thanks!

Who do you fly for? AA has a very limited international J/S reciprocal list.

With AA on international flights, that courtesy is only extended to a very limited number of airlines. If you're not on their international jumpseat list, AA will not take you even if there are 100 seats open in the back. This is unlike DL, UA, CO, US, etc. who will allow you to "jumpseat" in a passenger seat on an international flight.
So, the short answer is if you fly for an airline that's not on AA's international jumpseat list, the only way you'll be able to get on an AA international flight is to buy a ticket or an ID90/Zed fare.

Yeah, that's what I had heard about AA. I fly for Omni and we have reciprocal jumpseats with them but I wasn't sure what their international policy was. As far as I know AA is the only US carrier to fly to La Paz. If cabin jumpseats are unavailable I will look into other options.
On another note, do you fly for DL? I read recently that TSA has lifted the cockpit jumpseat restrictions internationally. Does Delta allow offline jumpseaters in the cockpit on international flights now?

Regarding Delta and int'l cockpit jumpseating, not yet. The TSA has given the go ahead in principle, but there are still some technical issues that need to be addressed with regards to being able to verify a pilot's eligibility. I think TSA wants something a little more than CASS, or at least CASS with restrictions. It would also require a change to our Flight Ops Manual. BTW, these are issues to apply to all airlines, not just DL. As far as I know, no airline has yet made the technical and policy changes to allow this. I'm sure it's a low priority item, but it will come... eventually.

As far as the bolded part goes, it's true, for the PAX and leading freight carriers as far as being restricted. Many of the ACMI'S (that are also considered airlines) are fully capable of taking a JS'er international without the restrictions the passenger carriers have in place.

I am embarrassed and ashamed to inform you that Omni Air Int'l is unfortunately not on our int'l j/s list.
I really, really sincerely hope this is fixed with the next contract and we align ourselves with the rest of the industry. Our VP Flight has alluded to that several times over the past year.
Good luck getting down there, man. On behalf of the professional pilots of AA, who have been trying like crazy to get this changed - I'm truly sorry.
