I'm pretty sure they can. And they most certainly do. The rules are different off the 'Island of America'. Plus it is very bad form to argue the point with the agent checking you in. "So sorry sir, only seat row 99, non-reclining middle. Between sumo champion and runner up. Behind screaming baby. Enjoy 16 hour flight back to America."

maddog, There are lots of problems in the world. One person can't fix them all. But if there are enough people fixing them, they can all get fixed.

What is up with ORD closing the KCM lanes at 6pm? What a bunch of BS. Funny thing is, there were three TSA folks there standing around with their hands in their pockets to give us this info. What an inefficient bunch.

You said it all right there. I do it the same way, business casual. The way I see it wearing the uniform is just a hassle and really does nothing for you unless bringing your big shampoo is important, which it is not for me. How much do you really need for a trip? 3oz lasts me weeks. Slip on shoes are easy. As long as you have your ID and passport, it's all good. I never have any problems.
Just what I want to do, go in a nasty airport bathroom with urine on the floor, disrobe and change, no thanks.
