You might want to look into that a little further. I'm no expert on it but heard that although it has an after market TSO, this set up is not compliant with DAL FOM...again, not sure of the accuracy of this, but probably worth looking into.

Pretty sad that a modern jet airliner is so loud it would necessitate ANR headsets. Oh wait. The 737 isn't a modern jet airliner.

While @ Alaska I started w/ the Bose X...WAY too much headphone, although there were others that used this headset. I swapped to the Bose QC2 w/ Ufly Mike...This worked VERY well. Many others used the same thing. The most used headset seemed to be the Seinhauser w/ round ear muffs.

Now @ Delta I upgraded my QC2 to QC15 and they work perfect (757/767). Being that DAL has provided headphone (1/2 DC's on DAL Jets & Telex 750 on NWA jet's) it seams that "most" guys use the provided headsets (insert "pilots are cheap" here.)

Hope this helps...Baja.

After talking to a lot of pilots went for Sennheiser and have been very happy with them.

Thread revival..

Anyone have feedback issues with the Telex 850's in the 73? Seems about half the 73's I fly at DAL cause a intermittent or constant tone in my right ear when I have the ANR on. I've isolated the source to the right window heat system (i.e. When I turn that off it goes away). Sounds kinda like a ground loop issue in a car. Thinking about sending the telex's back.

I use an 850 in the 737-800 (AA) and I don't love it. I've never been able to put my finger on it, but in some of our jets the clarity of the transmissions is far worse than the others. It's interesting that you think it's related to the window heat, I'm going to experiment with the noise reduction off and on when I fly next.

Get the DC proX. Comfy, bluetooth, long battery life.

Had Telex 850 for several years before breaking the attachements to the C-clamp. Better than the POS company headsets, but not impressive.

Tried on other guys Bose setup inflight. A little much after awhile. Never tried the Clarity Aloft, not a fan of things inserted in any body orifice. Settled on DCX-PRO. Happy all around compromise, huge improvement when the other guy has the same headset and an aircraft with the new hot mic switch.

I'll still take them off for a break during a long duty day.
