Theres a really eclectic lounge in Leidseplein....The Bulldog....but you're gonna need more than 29 hours to recover....

It depends where you stay. Behind the museum area there are a lot of restaurants. Try Stoop and Stoop, a rib place. Say hi to the four CAL crews (after 6pm). Don't forget the Red Light District. It's a once in a lifetime experience. Gives a whole new meaning to "window shopping".

For some reason Amsterdam is famous for its ribs. Two of the crews favorite places are De Klos at Kerkstraat 41 near the Leidseplein and Castelle's which is in the same general area.

Otto's right on visiting the red light district, good fun !!

There are Bulldog bars everywhere so hold your breath when you walk by unless of course you feel like failing a drug test.

If you like arts, the Van Gogh museum is the place to visit. They have a wonderfull cafteria too.
Go for the boat tour by the channels, it is not expensive and you will see a lot of the historic part of the city.

Thanks everyone, I looked at the hotel page but couldn't pronounce the name of the street if I tried (to many years in Japan!).

I'm taking my camera & plan to have the report next week!

I second the boat tour. I don't care for the art museums myself. Awesome city overall.
