Well, he's the Vice President of Flight. He might have an idea how the AA pilots feel..... Does anyone know if he is a pilot? Just thought the article might add to the discussion....

Whoever wins instantly becomes the largest airline in New York, Boston and now Puerto Rico. Most likely this would be a very expensive takeover after the potential bidding war is complete. As you know analysts have been soo accurate in this industry, the takeover is right around the corner.
It may not be AA, but I think you need to prepare for a merger/acquisition within the next 2 years.

He doesn't know how AA pilots feel. The "majority" he must be talking to are some senior check airman and assorted management pilots. The rank and file line pilots are at least 80% for an exploration of what Parker has in mind from my assessment. Also, the politicos now being snared to bark the Texas Tune are not friends of AA employees, but of AA executives.

Um, I think we can all agree AMR is out of the question. SWA is in the process of realizing it bit off more than it can chew with its current merger, and acquiring a substantial fleet of non-similar aircraft seems a stretch at best.

that leaves...hmmm.
you were saying something about a "bidding war?'

Word on the street is Parker is dangling UPS/Fedex/SWA type rates to get AA pilots onboard. No details on the retirement but I would expect a frozen pension + increased 401k. If true he's "all in" to get the last deal (aka big mgmt payout). We'll see.

So the same CEO who has Easties and Westies locked into by far the worst pay rates in the industry is willing to give the farm to AA pilots?

Now I've heard it all. The rumor mill has officially gone berserk.

You sound uninformed about the contract situation between west/east pilots at US Airways and I'll leave it at that. It could be worst though we could be at Allegiant

What would that large a pay raise cost the corporation, and where would Parker find the money to pay it?

What pension would be frozen? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the pension taken over by the PBGC?

This rumor is serious wishful thinking.
