Do any other airlines have imbedded reserve on a 3 day Hawaii trip? SWA is planning trips where day two is on reserve status with slightly better pay but no Mai Tai's poolside until the last red-eye has pushed for the west coast.

A no vote probably would be a good starter for our section 6 to let them know we're not going to just sign off on whatever they send us. I wouldn't mind. It would definitely give us more leverage.
Decrease max codeshare percentage to 2%, no codeshare other than a small Mexican company that can only codeshare with us to Mexico - I can vote no with no problem. Not many pilot groups would think that deal sucks, but with a little more leverage, we can do better.

Seriously? That is a bad, bad idea. How do you get your required crew rest if you are on reserve?

You forgot to mention that SWAPA agreed to no overide whatsoever for ETOPS or international flying. What's the reasoning for that? I thought your contract was so fantastic that every AirTran pilot should thank their lucky stars, blah, blah, blah. Hell, we even have an overide.
Not that I'd get a vote on it, but without international overide, the sideletter is a nonstarter. That's just ridiculous.

How does a 3 hour SWA domestic flight pay compare with a 3 hour AirTran international flight? How about a 2 hour flight?
Now add in the additional per diem on the SWA side and compare it to the AirTran pay for the same flight. Who makes more? Which paycheck is higher, AirTran with an international override or a SWA paycheck without?
No rhetoric. Show us the math.

Don't be so sensative...I didn't take WM's post as a AT vs SWA thing.
Your standard SWA pilot will make less on int'l flights due to typically higher costs of food you must purchase since customs/agriculture will confiscate your ham sammys, bananas and other items. BTW, that food you must buy is going to cost more too. The int'l override is to offset this loss.
