Delta management wants more RJs

Sailing.... Go to minute 19:50 of the webcast that Ed just did on May 17. You can hear the words from his mouth.... He said the primary reason for the early deal with the pilots was to accelerate the RJ parking and get more. Here's the link. http://www.delta.com/about_delta/inv...ions/webcasts/ Go to the May 17 webcast.

Being "single issue" is one thing, but sometimes things are flat out poison pills and when you come across one you say no, you don't swim to the bottom of the septic tank in search of diamonds; if its full of crap there won't be any. This is our contract not a philosophy mid term.

What's the opposite of cautiously optimistic? Hopeful but diligently pessimistic? I guess I'm that, but a turd TA could be obvious or it could be embedded in a shiny exterior. The latter requires careful dissection, but the former should literally be rejected almost immediately. The only exception is the NC or possibly the reps are crying out for help and want/need a public show of unity so they are debating sending a POS to us anyway to get some political capital. Even then though, a POS as big as that rumor is an instant, day one walk away.
Your NC would not do that, and you would gain no political capital from such course of action. In fact, sending a TA up for a vote shows any future arbitrator and mediator that the company is negotiating in good faith. By sending the TA to a membership vote the union reps are indicating that the TA is fair and equatible for it's pilots; resulting in the pilots looking like the greedy and unreasonable ones and getting parked. A NC should never bring anything but the finished product to it's membership with full confidence that it will pass.

I listened to the broadcast. No where does he say they plan is to get more. You should go back and listen again. He only states they plan to get rid of small RJ's to help in the fuel cost area. He does state they did the deal early with us to help in that but nothing is said about getting more larger RJ's. If you are posting your impression or inference then say so but don't change what is stated.

But there will be more large planes at DCI. 100%. There is no way that won't happen. He was clearly barely able to contain his excitement over that.

Are you serious? There is nothing in our PWA that is stoping management from parking any RJs. Why would the company need an agreement unless they wanted more?!!

Heard a rumor of SWA rates, but scope was given back.
