YES, we ALL know the TSA changed their own policy on occupying the JS for international flights, but by the time they get the "master crew list" thing going, all the software/hardware set up in the foreign locations, it'll be YEARS before we see it.
This. Not sitting in the actual jumpseat. Just using it to grab a seat in the back.

What's the latest policy for UA? Will the gate give a jumpseater a boarding pass for business class? If the flight loads show Y as oversold, but plenty of open seats in J and F, should I not consider this flight as an option?

What are people's favorite airlines for jumpseating to Europe (with at least a chance of an upgrade)? I'm trying to get to Germany, but I can't find schedules for Kalitta, Atlas or any other ACMI besides Polar. Should I just call their jumpseat phone numbers?

A huge Thank You to the USAirways crews which made my recent European jump-seating experience perfect.
Their jump-seating policy and procedures top the list.
I am optimistic that more U.S. carriers will work on less restrictive jump-seat policies.

Jump-seats are one of the few remaining privileges afforded to U.S. pilots, which we owe to the previous generations and union negotiations.

Does anybody have any experience jumpseating from Madrid, Spain (MAD)??
I'm looking to catch a US Airways flight MAD-PHL next week, but have never jumpseated internationally.
I don't have access to ZED, so that's not an option for me.

AMR guys/gals, I'm planning a trip to Uruguay, (MVD). Is jump seating (with cabin seating available in back) just an early show to counter, pay fees and go? Or is there a listing on website I need to do? Im with B6. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, JetBlue is not on American's international jumpseat list, which means that you are only eligible to travel D6 (offline jumpseater priority) on domestic flights. Very few airlines are granted international D6 privileges on American. For those that are approved, listing is completed through the same website used to list for domestic flights.

Kalitta website posts a schedule. It is close to schedule, we go to Liepzig (EDDP) almost daily from CVG and most days from JFK or EWR. 24 hours ahead and you will have two meals all first class seats and even possibly a bunk to sleep in.
From Halle station or Leipzig station you can get almost anywhere.

Are there special requirements for international jumpseats on DAL and UAL? CAL used to require 24 hour in advance international listing for TSA processing. Do DAL, UAL & AMR have similar requirements?

Thanks.
within 1 day of trying to get back from Rio, I looked at DL and CO, I went for CO last minute, showed up at the airport maybe 2 hours before, went to the service desk, like most Int'l airports, and showed my ID and paid the Int'l fee, about $40 US I think, happen to see the crew inside of security at a snack bar and introduced myself, positive experience all around, GIG-IAH.

I always: 1) saved the inbound pprwork or 2) try to 'list' while in the States for the return flt. You never know if you will be able to explain "J/S" in an international location. Have fun.
