US Airways Calls

That's impressive, IP/EP stands out as a huge advantage right now. Every IP I know has been called somewhere or by multiple carriers. The rest of us basic AC's are slowly getting trickled into the mix, but still waiting on the IP/EP pool to dry up.

I'm sure your time will come soon. I'm a mil IP/EP and interview soon. I'll let you know how it went. FWIW I applied to the last three windows. No "keep warm" or any other indication they were looking at me. After the interview invite, it says "view the directions" and states the interview will occur at CLT. It was from the May window if anyone's interested. If you only applied on the last one, it appears they haven't started calling from those. Good luck to everyone trying! I've got my fingers crossed, I know it'll be a great opportunity.

I think everyone got invite to reapply a few months ago, when they redid the app. I have never got a keep warm. I have 5 type ratings 744, 742, and corporate crap, but only about 6000 hrs, 4 year degree. I guess I would rather them just deny me now then keep me in suspense. lol.

I was hired a week or so ago. Mid Nov interview, 4 week wait for the yes call, start class in a few weeks.
4k total
2100 civ (mostly CFI)
1900 mil fighter/trainer
IP/EP
2x EC interview prep seminars
1 internal rec
Applied in August 2013 and Oct 2013. Profile said under review and never changed, though I didn't check it often. My interview was a lot like what was described in post 3327. Overall, enjoyable interview, I actually had fun during the interview with the two pilots. The HR/pilot interview was a tough read, but went fine. The wait for the call was the worst part by far. Right after the interview I felt very confident that it went well, by 4weeks later I'd convinced myself that it'd gone horribly wrong.
Anyway, I'm on the old side so I think I'll have some seniority in the class. I'm looking for any advice on the 190 vs AB and domiciles. I'll be living in the mid west and will likely always commute.
Also, looking for any advice on pre studying (or not), especially considering I'm new to the 121 world. I've been perusing airbusdriver.net
Thanks,
my family and I are very excited about this opportunity.
PM's welcome

Welcome aboard. The 190 will get you a line quicker (~4 months) which ultimately makes your commute easier and a bit more pay first year since you'll be off reserve. Base is only PHL for the 190. Pay first year is the same rate at $40/hr for both fleets but quite the difference second year. The Bus pays around $86/hr second year in 2015 so it's a good option. Plus, they fly less legs than the 190, but to each their own. Any east coast base is available within a couple months if you don't get it awarded in class for the Bus. Most people bid to the Bus second year due to the pay, more diverse flying, more bases, and overall more comfortable cockpit. Lots of changes ahead that may introduce AA bases for the Bus but that's probably at least a year away. If you don't want to go through two separate aircraft training programs within one year, which is realistic with the new six month seat lock, than pick the Bus. it will make your life easier. I believe time to hold a line/block on the Bus in PHL is 1.5 years. I can't comment on what to study for the mil to part 121 transition since I'm civilian but I'm sure others will chime in. I don't recommend studying aircraft specific stuff as every airline has their own approach. It's a great training program.
Anyway, congrats and good to have ya.

I'm an IP/EP with ~ half my total time is instructor in T-37, T-38, and F-16. 3 job fairs, DO, Chief of Safety, perfect FEF, no skeletons, no calls. I don't get it.

Unfortunately, it seems that's how the US recruitment system works.
