Don't feel like a schmo for actually paying for a ride! For those of us crazy, er I mean lucky enough to get hitched, I did it on my wedding and honeymoon years and years ago.
Do you think I wanted to hear about that for the rest of my life? How we got bumped and how I ruined the biggest event of all time? Nah. I like my kitchen passes once in a while. You did the right thing.

While we (NK) don't charge anyone to jumpseat, take a look over on the Regional forum at the new United travel policy for non-revving United Express carriers...ouch! Paying to go to work- unbelievable.
So don't demean this guy for asking- there's some sleazy stuff going on out there anymore. Personally I'm proud of our jumpseater-friendly policy and culture here and only hope it continues...but never underestimate the greed and shortsightedness of airline executives...

3 legs each way...we got on every flight (though we changed our route coming back home) and every flight arrived EARLY. Unbelievable.

Now if you land it in the US and are a hero.... versus in one of the completely sketchy countries they fly to and selling it to the highest bidder on the spot... now thats up to them.
I know a few grass strips that could handle a a320. I would like to see then get out of there
