If anything, a redesigned jumpseat would be nice! Congrats on new airplanes, and hopefully more jobs.

Anyone have the breakdown of scheduled deliveries yet (net growth, not replacements of the 400s and 700s)? Thanks.

2Loud has a point. If you think of it. AS is going to be all 800 (157 seats)/900 by 2017. With Horizon with 48 Q400 with 76 seats and SkyWest flying 5 RJ 700 70 seats. There is going to be a huge hole a/c with capacity 157-76=81 seats between the Q and 738. Who will plug that hole?
Congrats on the order guys.

Therein lies the breakdown in negotiations we're setup for. The company is going to reject our scope proposal. Their counter offer will be equally ineffective scope protection in exchange for a raise and promised continued growth.

I can hear it now: If you want this big Boeing order to come through, you'll have to allow SkyWest to fly the Bombardier CSeries for us. It isn't economical for Alaska Airlines to operate a small fleet of smaller aircraft. Before you know it, our management will be on the RFP-whipsaw-the-regionals crack and SkyWest will have as many eskimo tails as mainline.

That's the hard question I should have asked the company at the meeting. Who is going to fly the 100 Seater? I lose sleep thinking about that answer.

Fine. Tentative order. Feel better?

Default Delta to eventually acquire Alaska? Watch Out

"Delta Air Lines wants to expand service to Asia through its partnership with Alaska Airlines."

Delta to expand Asia service from Seattle » Northwest Asian Weekly |

I wouldn't want to deal with Delta pilot merger. They screwed Midwest Airlines Pilots, wouldn't bring them on when they owned them for a a short time. Alpa and Alpa guys. Brotherly love, NOT. And how many Delta pilot flight bags have stickers on them reading "Hired, not acquired" on them against the NWA guys. No thanks.

I hope it doesn't happen, but I think after the US/AA deal, AK will be next. Maybe not, but a nice piece of low laying fruit.

Best of luck.

Hope Alaska never merges with anyone; if it happnes, it will sadly be end of one of the last best brands. Some arrogant pilots fail to realize that we are just a number to upper management. Infighting amongst different pilot groups on who's better always amazes me. Some will never grow up.
