What has ALPA done for you lately ?

I used to vote republican because I am "conservative" but the corporate connections and big oil/business connections that the republican party has are too much for me, so now I vote independent (or for more traditional democrats), as I'm not going to give my vote to the Godless commie counter culture dems either... Dems talk the talk about labor and the "poor" etc, but they're as in bed with big business as the repubs (Clinton did that). The last REAL democrat this country had was Jimmy Carter.

The President has 200+ hours in an F-106 and they don't land on Aircraft Carriers.
Get some flight time yourself before you judge anybody and go vote for Hillary.

I agree. Doesn't matter which party, they can all be bought and sold.

Wow, now that's impressive. By the way, how do you know he had 200+ hours? Wasn't his military records "lost"?

The following is from a forwarded ALPA communication. While ALPA may not be perfect, I'm thankful that there are legislative affairs volunteers and staffers looking out for pilots. The more I read this, the more ****ed off I get. Our elected representatives in Washington tried to severely reduce and possible eliminate the ability for airline pilots to seek self help under the RLA.
While I'm as ticked off as much as the next guy about the state of our [pilot] union. On this one, I think ALPA deserves a well earned Thanks for any part they played in defeating this garbage.

What has ALPA-PAC Done for ME?
Before Congress went into recess, language inserted in the Port Security Bill stated: (paraphrased) “…Any legal strike by transportation workers may be interpreted as an act of terrorism, and would allow the President of the US to mobilize the military”. The bill went on further to state (paraphrased) “…If any applicant to a transportation job has previously been a participant in a legal strike, that person can be denied employment because strikes by transportation workers can be interpreted as an act of terrorism”.
YES, READ IT AGAIN! This is just “a small part” of the continued attack on labor by this administration. Even though this was a Ports Bill, ask yourself; are WE transportation workers?
I am pleased to report that ALPA National Government Affairs, in concert with the Transportation Trades Department of the AFL-CIO, were able to get this language removed. This is what ALPA-PAC dollars do for us. They give us access to congressional leaders that are sympathetic to our issues. It may not be the best system, but it is what we have. We can either play the game, or sit on the bleachers and sightsee.

Not to offend anyone on this board, but 200 hours doesn't count for much. That isn't even enough to make the cost of training (both UPT and F106) worthwhile. That would not have been tolerated had he not had connections. In my book, he's not a pilot.

Let's not forget about the "Lost or Misplaced" drug test results from W's Flight Physical Guard Unit. We all have skeleton's in the closet.

Interesting thread, inflamatory, but interesting. Before we get crosswise with the site's Term of Service (i.e. political threads), lets take a deep breath and try to get back on topic.
I saw the same ALPA message recently, let me do some digging and see I can find a source.
