BB, didn't you see the new memmo from Martha, at Flying Magazine?
You're supposed to get on the radio, pretend you are the Citation pilot, and tell yourself you are good to depart in front of them! If you taxi slow enough, you might be able to make them go around too!

Hey fellas....are we "winning in NY"? If DL wants this market, they can have it. NYC is basically a third world area. If you don't believe me look at your cell phone when you are at JFK/LGA.....no 3G....who doesn't have 3G? They can eat the delays caused by the east coast market.

Besides, as a former regional prop trash driver who has not completely forgotten the skill set that enables running on time through an AFU operation ... I've had to go missed twice because I was overtaking jets on approach in IMC ... don't know what T-37's fly like, but if you put a cabin on one and call it a Citation, it does 90 knots.

Yeah, her writing is a little out there. My business partner had to work with her on some stuff and say's she's a very nice person FWIW. She may be aiming for Ernie Gann's style and ending up looking a little like Bert's sidekick.

1 hour and 20 minutes on tarmac in LGA at noon today. Taxi'd out number 40. 2 min between takeoffs there.

Were any of you guys flying back in 1981, when PATCO went on strike?
It was a real 'hoot'.
In NYC they gave out 10 slots for GA planes per hour, and if you missed your slot time, i.e. your slot was 7-8 am, but you weren't airborne by 8, you had to wait until the next available slot came open, which was going to be after 6pm!
The good news was, if you got out of there, the traffic on the airways was light, the Majors had cut way back on their flights, but the problem was getting out before your slot expired!
So we would call for our outbound clearance on our way inbound, telling clearance we were on the ground and ready to go...while on final of course!
