What's ROIC? (I'm another outsider)

Sounds like the mgmt. realized the error of their ways. Read this afternoons Negotiators notepad. Possible AIC on a 5 year contract.

I read the same but didn't see anything regarding an increase in scope protection. Skywest has those 100 seat jets coming and we have the weakest scope protection in the industry. Between that and the 400's & 700's going away its a pretty easy deduction what they want to do.

Learn from your brothers/sisters at Delta. The company said the turnip had been squeezed as much as it could be and the union sold the pilots on that. Now mysteriously billions more are coming out of the woodwork after the contract was ratified. Oh yeah the productivity gains we gave them stalled hiring for a couple more years. Watch and learn obi one.

No need to explain productivity gains to an Alaska pilot. We already went through that on the the last contract. We have about 100 fewer pilots than in '06, but about 10 more airplanes. How does that math work?

I'll be so disappointed if a contract gets passed without major changes to this. Given the history of scope issues at other airlines, Alaska is not by any means safe from this kind of thing. In fact, like Aspilot said, I think that's their plan. So why not save some mainline jobs?
