Whoever is in charge of loading the splash page probably can't tell the difference between an rj cockpit and a 73 cockpit.

"No ill will" vs "now ill will" are pretty different meanings!

Good one! Freudian slip? I'll fix it.

According to the ALPA email I just got, Alaska pilots just reached an AIP for a new contract after it has only been ammendable for a month and a half! Way to go. Please tell us your secret. It has taken us 4 years to get one!

Simple really, just settle for half what everyone expects and let the MEC endorse it.

I hope I'm wrong.

Because SWA is going to buy Alaskan and give them all a raise.

Wanted to buy a Mercedes but could only afford a Hyundai. After purchasing a Hyundai, buyer's remorse set in and could not forget the Mercedes. The problem is, Corndog spent half of his wad on a Hyundai and Mercedes is now just a wet dream.

I'm not too sure SWA has enough bucks or stock value to swallow the poison pill that AK has. Additionally they are still at least a year away from completing the current merger.

All that being said, I hope the NC got some much tighter scope language this time, airline industry M&A ain't over yet...

Aspilot 05-15-2013 08:36 AM

I would guess that scope will get trumped by M&A. There's only so much money to go around and I think the greater concern is Merger protection versus Scope. Just a guess though.

If your MEC comes out with the hard sell and starts touting "time value of money", "the scope language is a big win", and "we urge you to vote yes on this TA"...read carefully before you vote. ;)
