"I try to do my part and taxi as slow as possible when SWA is behind me.
I suggest you do the same.
I did get a SWA to go around because I slowed way down early
and took my sweet a$$ time getting off the runway."
And you wonder why ATC puts Southwest in front of you? Makes sense to me, put the slow kids in the back of the line!

So I asked approach what the ground speed was on that traffic. Without a moment's hesitation, he came back with "360 knots"!!
I wasn't surprised a bit that a SWA guy would be blowing around at that kind of speed...but I sure was surprised that ATC would put it on the tape!!

Hehehe!!
One of my funniest SWA stories was the day I was letting down into the old Austin airport. I was on an extended base, descending through around 4000 or so when ATC advised I was #2 behind a SWA aircraft on a long final.
I could see him in front and below us...and after watching him for a moment I was surprised at what seemed to be a pretty high ground speed.

Your nonsense comment about SWA throwing lavish parties for ATC guys is one of the stupidest things I have ever read on this forum.
Ever. And I, as well as everyone else on here, have read some ridiculous stuff.
We're all sorry your so unhappy at AA. Brighten your smile a little and put in an app with SWA. Then, you could break all the rules, be a millionair, give away Mercedes to ATC guys and get treated like a king with them!

And how many tax payer dollars have been spent to bail your worthless airline out of bankruptcy? Or maybe you are still waiting for the call to the majors? Still flying checks and newspapers? Quit your bitching and get off of my taxiway, SWA is behind you and they're ready to go!
Everyone has the opportunity to be number one and hit the gap, but when you leave the ramp at a snail's pace that causes 15 other aircraft to burn thousands of pounds of fuel waiting for your ****-poor attitude -- don't expect ATC to hold other aircraft for you.

Ladies and Gents,
Do your own research on this "lavish party"
You will find that this is indeed the truth.
I am quite certain that no self respecting SWA employee
would ever admit to such a thing.....but it is true.
Kinda like admiting that you gave the teacher a nice
present then getting a A+ on the exam.
Do you really think anyone will confess to that?

We can all learn from this thread or throw rocks at it. Southwest has a get it done attitude and I can see how that plays well to ATC folks. I think we would all do ourselves a favor by being more cooperative with ATC as they are just trying to make a big puzzle come together. As we make their job easier, ours will likely get easier as well. The slow taxi and forcing others to go around stories are unprofessional by any standard. To the extent safety will allow, I will re-commit to be more ATC friendly and hopefully in the future I might even be lucky enough to get my clearance ahead of Southwest.

1. You get paid by the minute.
2. Never eat a crew meal in the dark.
If Southwest wants to go the speed of heat, fine by me. Of course, I haven't parked an airplane in a Burbank service station or on a Chicago street yet, either.
