Not to stray too far from course, but are there pilots who think they can't make an upgrade to captain from FO after watching the guy do the job for 6-9 years?

To keep it a little on topic, I had to wait 5 days for the link. I was worried because my original application had a typo in the zip code and when I went to edit the zip code, I somehow completely reapplied for a different position number. I was thinking HR was gonna make a point to skip me for being an IT du-mas. :P

I applied on the 12th but have not received the 2nd e-mail yet. Checked all the boxes, military, Part 91/121/135, typed, etc.

Dudemize, I am in the same boat. Applied on the 12th too, Typed, mil, etc... Did you create a pilot credentials login on the 12th too or update your existing one?

Dude/Tulsa: From the outside looking in I think there may have been some IT glitches on the SWA end initially. I believe someone confirmed that on this forum.

Like you I submitted on the 12th. No email.

Went to the SWA Career site and noticed the 9/12/13 posting was closed followed by a newer posting. I completed that one AGAIN. Got my email response 2 days ago.

Hopefully that is the issue and not SPAM folder issues. Best of luck.

Update,

I have interviewed back in 2011, and then have reapplied during this window. I have updated continuously my pilot credentials profile since my interview. I did not receive the second email directing me to the pilot credentials site until yesterday. I applied on the 12th as well.

Hey guys. I have a friend in management that told me they were having issues with their IT department. I applied on the 12th and received the email for the link on the 17th. I already had a pilot credentials account and I had already updated my profile. Sounds like they're getting everything caught up now and taken care of. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL.

I just updated my existing one. I'm not too worried about the e-mail at this point. Based on the earlier post from the hiring department, it seems they are telling people to update their stuff even if you haven't received the e-mail.

I had also submitted my stuff on the 12th and had not gotten a follow up e-mail. My friend at work applied the 14th and got an e-mail on the 17th. Looking at his stuff Vs. mine I noticed something. In order to make the "plain text" resume look correct I had used the underscore ( _ ) key in place of some spaces. It made the resume look good to the human eye, but what if it was not a human looking at it? What if it was just a computer program looking for key words and numbers? Would the underscores confuse the program?

The night of the 18th I went back in and reformatted my plain text resume to remove all the underscores. Lunchtime the next day I had the follow up e-mail.

Not sure if that could be your problem or not, but I would feel bad if someone missed an opportunity for something as simple as formatting.

Applied on the 13th and got the link to PC today- it just takes time and patience- like a lot of things in this industry. Had a previous PC app in from last hire window- updated it right after SWA app on the 13th (and still got the 'link' email today..). Will look it over again for errors.... Remember: step 1- breath in slowly. Step 2- breath out slowly and smile. Repeat as necessary....
