Same story here. Applied on last two windows. Met the minimums. Got the second e-mail last two hiring periods. Applied on 18th and still have not received second e-mail. Updated my pilot credential info. Anyone else in this boat with these dates. Also, did anyone apply a second time for good measure?

That's good info. Thanks. As this thread has said, they must be way behind, having technical glitches or just reacting to an overwhelming swarm of applications. If that's the case, its just folks trying to get a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket.

Talked to a friend today with contacts at SWA (Dad's an Assistant Chief Pilot) looks like they need guys with the type right now because the classes are going to start so quickly, second half of hires may not have to have the type rating.

Does Southwest go after guys who aren't primarily 121 guys? I flew the CRJ for a 121 but my most recent experience is flying turbo props 135 in Afghanistan.
I meet all the requirements minus the 73 type. Just wondering if they would even look at a guy like me when there are so many strictly 121 guys applying.

I applied on the 14th and got the e-mail on the 19th, having already had the PilotCredentials app up to date. Can't imagine the e-mail means anything though - I don't have a 737 type. I put my chances at a call somewhere between none at all and when hell freezes over.
Damn, other than the currency, those are some strong quals. Curious though - and I'm not making any kind of judgment - are you listing FFDO on your resumé? Is that normal for people to do?

I applied the first day it opened and just got the email yesterday. I had already done the pilot cred last week and have some internal recs submitted. No type and not available until late Spring 2014.
