0 hours of 121 time could be a good thing. SWA probably has a way they like to fly and by having no previous 121 time they don't have to make guys unlearn bad habits they learned elsewhere.

0 hours of 121 time is not a good thing. A lot of hours flying rich people around the world is not a good thing either. Hours flying paying passengers from point a to point b part 121 is very good; if you want to fly for an airline.

Hey guys, hate to be the bearer of bad news but I just learned from a very reliable source (HR lady who used to work in SWA People Dept) that they've changed up the process for the January round of interviews. ALL candidates are now having their references called prior to the DB vice only the top scoring, sue fire candidates. Translation, don't put too much stock into the fact that your references were called as it relates to your chances of getting hired. This new process is to arm the CPs at the DB with as much info as possible to make the most informed decisions.

I guess calling it bad news is a bit overly dramatic bupt you get the point. I bring it up because I interviewed last week and had my references called yesterday. My enthusiasm was quickly curbed when I got news of the new process. Just passing it along. Good luck to all meeting the Feb DB.

With some of the issues I've heard about "integrating" AirTran crews, there may be a bias against prior 121 time right now.

How about the background check, does anyone know if they are running the background checks on everyone prior to the DB?
