Recall of DAL MEC Officers
#711
Still boggles my mind that I, as a paying dues member in good standing, has no say in who is going to lead us. And I dont count that BS statement that, "I voted for my LEC and he gets to vote for me because he knows what's better for me". What if I didnt vote for the LEC rep? Is he voting for my wishes? I do believe we are the only union that the members can not personally vote for their Union President....... BS!
Your LEC reps put the time in to analyze the issues thoroughly, and make themselves accountable for their actions on your behalf. That lets you set the brakes at the end of your trip, and know that a group of your peers are putting in the time to get smart about all the issues...and not just the one's that pop up on your radar from time-to-time.
They are led in those efforts by a Chairman, who has the sole authority to appoint committee chairmen to do the heavy lifting in various areas. The Chairman is accountable to those reps that you elect.

Don't leave the matter up to a State where the other Candidate's Brother is the Governor and the Secretary of State is an extreme party activist who refused to comply with Court orders (which admittedly were generated by an equally activist Florida Supreme Court), until the US Supreme Court got involved and let your adversary's father's running mate's appointee decide the matter.
Huh? Whut? Apparently didn't consider ....

Not really. Typical update from Bill. We will never know the truth as he has a looong history of voting against things that were likely to pass and then say he had nothing to do with it passing regardless of the reason having anything to do with the actual vote. Anyone from before the merger knows this. Drama? Yes. Predictable? Yes. Eye opening? Only if you read the tabloids for content...
Are you saying he has Jedi powers and has sway on all these other guys? Maybe we can get him to work with the negotiators.

Hmmm. The update I saw was signed by 3 guys, all of whom seemed to write quite a bit. The DTW update seemed to be in agreement with what came out of MSP and SEA, as well as what the CA rep in NYC wrote.

Did the DTW update come out at the same time as the others, or was it after others with a similar theme had already been posted?

It's obvious some of the guys were gunning for Kingsley, and some of the guys did everything they could to keep their guy in. Some independent reps were caught in the middle, and had to settle this thing. My respect goes to them.
Its easy to figure out the guys that wanted to keep propping up Kingsley: they all made the same argument. It wasn't really worth the trouble of sending out separate e-mails.
It's trickier to figure out who among the recall proponents was acting on a common agenda, but obviously some were, probably most. Guess they have contact lists on their cellphone also. To separate those guys, the pilots are going to have to decide for themselves, about who was going to find King's tenure marginal because it was marginal, and who found King's tenure to be marginal, because it was King.
Bottom line: we didn't have the governance we need, and we need to get something better.

Jedi powers? I think the obvious conclusion is that he has a cell phone, with his BFF's in his contact list.

I'm going to let my previous post stand, Nu. Most of us aren't interested in who exactly hunts in what wolf-pack, or what the relationship is between the members. Is there an alpha-male? A Sith among the Jedis? I couldn't care less.
Guys are engaging in alliances, attack, counter, payback, etc. I think most people see it pretty plainly.
I don't care who is scratching who's back, or whatever else they might be scratching. I just care about the dysfunction, and how it's hurting us.
