Are you serious? Zero turbine time and you got a job at Jet Blue? That is amazing. Just goes to show you, knowing people on the inside is HUGE. Very well done!!!

Like they say, if you're not networking, you're "not working" (at least not with a job at the majors).

It's not knowing people... It's an agreement with UND.
UND has an agreement with Cape Air and JetBlue. If you meet the quals you pass through the gates, there you are, a never-flown-a-turbine-aircraft A320 FO.

Not knocking it, just stating what it is.

Regardless, congrats to Dokk.

Wow.... I guess this is kind of like the "ab initio" or in house training program that JB is trying to set up. Really not that much different. Well, I guess you got to take advantage of what's out there. If I hadn't gone the military route (which has its own "club advantages") then I probably would have done something like UND.

I would shy away from comparing it to an "Ab initio" program. They're not doing any of the training. It gets your foot in the door by getting you an interview (after 5-7 years in the program). We interview with everyone else and are evaluated the same in the interview.

It's certainly nowhere near as in-depth as the Ab-Initio programs low time pilots undertake with European carriers. That's a whole different ball game!
