scope out the area. If you can afford Hoboken, do it. Lots of stuff to do and easy train ride into the city and the airport.
Thanks, ghilis! I'll look into it for sure. A quick googlemaps search has me interested. I'd rather spend a little extra and not hate life. What's the best way to find leads?

Good luck all, and enjoy! I've been here a year, and love it!

Any slots open in IAH?

5 slots for IAH 777 CA

Unlikely that would trickle down to IAH slots available for new-hires

Hoboken is great if you have a car... Public transit from there requires two nj transit trains and the air train (which is closed right now until mid July). Comes out to roughly 1:10 just on trains.

I live in the area, PM me if you have questions!

Default BZ buddy!

I get sick of people throwing sex, race, and other things people can't change into these threads. For everybody with boobs or "a race card", there are 20 who's daddy was a pilot and paid for everything and has all the connections.

Not sure what your point is, but for every 20 trust fund babies or whatever, there's a thousand that earned it hour by hour and were never going to ever get an interview without being in or beyond the fat part of the competitive minimums with no favors whatsoever.

So, yeah.

A sad truth that MANY don't like to recognize. Whenever somebody says "well, I know so and so, and they got hired at (insert job here) and they only had (insert a well below competitive experience level here)". If they took a sample of the REST of that new class, or ANY other class at (insert airline here) they'd by in a small minority of the people hired.
