I'm always surprised by pilots. We finally have real rest rules, no more reduced rest crap (which airlines actually started scheduling reduced rest), and guaranteed 10 hrs rest with 8 hrs sleep opportunity. Sorry that your golden Spirit schedule now sucks and you'll "only" credit 120 hrs this month for working 14 days.

While the new rest rules might mitigate the opportunity to make more money (wage slave for personal gain) the rest rules allow the collective pilot cadre provide safer air transport for the traveling public (professional).

Misinformed again.... and as usual...
The change was going to happen... the public wanted it... so if something is going to happen, do you want to be a part of the change or do you just want to be left out of the process and told later your new terms...
oh wait, that is how JB pay and benefits work....

Same deal... Age 65 was going to happen... there was no Congressional vote against it... but the question is, the how, or more specifically, the terms in which it was applied....
Direct Relationship with management... how'd that go?

How so? It went from 60 to 65 immediately instead of being phased in over 5 years. It hit the pause button on many careers of guys stuck in the right seat of an RJ.
I understand why senior guys wanted it. I would too in their position. Many of them got screwed by their employers. But I hope they understand that they also damaged the incomes of thousands of regional guys.
I'm not blaming this on ALPA at all. But I'm also not giving them any credit for lessening the blow.
