It was an ill-timed, unquoted and very late response to some random DOJ comments from several pages ago. So, it was remotely relevant.

Trash is a strong word. But the ultra low cost product does attract some interresting passengers. I jumpseated Frontier late last month. Been reading how Indigo was going to turn Frontier into it's newest ulc airline, cheap fares, but nickel and dimeing for everything. The lobby looked like a bus depot in Tijuana. I'm not talking flip flops, I'm talking vaquero music playing on an Iphone speaker, kids running around like wild indians. Fully expected to see some chickens roosting about. Onboard, $1.99 got you a coffee or soda, an elderly gentlemen covered head to toe in a horse blanket kept moaning in a foreign tongue as he pushed is feet on my seat back. WOW. Did get home :30 earlier than had I waited for the next UAL flight. Think I'll wait next time.

Spirit Airlines is a lot of things, trashy is certainly an apt description however, they are one money making machine. Did you guy's/gal's get an portion of the IPO when you went public?

No they sure didn't! It was very short sited during negotiations, but it appears the work rules turned out well.

However, they also weren't told they were getting roughly X amount for the last 7 years either only to have their shares diluted to roughly half or less because of a lot of wasteful spending. But it sure is fun!

Correction....

Should have said 'have their payout diluted', since the shares won't be kept by the employees.
