Congrats! Thats awesome. I would happily not give my company 2 weeks heads up to be in class next week.

I've got a contact and strong advocate on the inside that has the ear of the chief. Let me ask about the 800. That's high. Given vacations, training, 117, cancellations, scheduling conflicts, etc. that's about max regional flying in a year.
That would be great if you can get the info!

800/year for 121 is a lot. Especially for new hires or new upgrades on reserve. And aslo for the senior guys that dont fly as much.

And give up the exciting and rewarding career of a reserve, commuting regional pilot from the perspective of a retired military pilot flying heavy jets? Surely you jest?

Just got word from a friend (and fellow interviewee) with a class date. He flew just under 500 hrs in the last 12 months, corporate. Another I know of with a class date had less than 200, heavy military time.

I told them in the exit interview that I was a contract pilot, so no notice would be required. Probably why they called me.

Fighter pilots getting under 150/yr unless deployed currently. 800 hrs in a year didn't even happen in the 80s. A very ambitious FAIP triple-turning daily and going XC 2x/month might be able to break 800.

A strong 20-year career for a pointy-nose jock is about 3k hours, take out 3 years for staff/ALO and that's still under 200hrs/yr. though most of those hours are earned with bars on your shoulder.

I had 100hrs of bug smasher time in the past 12 months when I showed up to OSC and did just fine. They need to look elsewhere for the cause of their problems.

Sure, no worries. Don't know when they will share that with us, but when they do, I'll put it on here. I have a sched that just goes through indoc for now, and it's 10 days long. They told me to plan on 7 weeks total. I'm hitting the road in the am. Got to have wheels!
