Default Volunteer work

I had a few questions that I was hoping to get a little guidance on. When listing volunteer work on a resume is it better to include bullet points explaining what you did while volunteering or just listing the organization under say, affiliations? Also, I have got multiple opinions regarding work experience on my resume.
Some say to just list the airline, position and dates. This cuts out the bullet points of listing F/O duties etc. Others say list it. The argument being that airlines know what you did as an FO and the other that they want to see something there. Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't think very many places actually use a resume beyond name and contact info, and possibly total hours. Everything is electronic and in a set format for each company. That said, as for paper resumes, I'd emphasise things like vol work over "FO duties" as yes, they all know what pilots do.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if this applicant is qualif-
Whoa, it says here he facilitated domestic and international navigation while assisting the pilot in command and participating in crew resource management for a global air transportation network! Prep the interview team, STAT!

Use the bullet points to expand on any awards or additional status you have. For example, I had for some of my bullet points:

- Employee of the month award due to positive customer feedback
- Lowest fuel burn per block hour CA position for months of x, y in rolling 12 month period
- 95% on time departure rate for the past 12 month period

Another under my CFI days:
- Cultivated xx students using cold calling techniques
- Designed and created new web site increasing overall traffic 300% in the first month of going online

You get the point. Put accomplishments in the bullet points, that is what they are for. Everyone knows your job duties as a CA, FO. I did however use the first bullet point to write my progression, ie 2005-2008 First Officer, 2008-Presnt Captain, IIRC.
