If everything else fails as in p#ssing off US consumers, international consumers, and US lawmakers the big three can always p#ss off the gulf carriers. Maybe david will win one!

No one is talking about "shutting down open skies". We just expect them to be fair and balanced. We fly 2 flights a day to their "country" they can fly 2 a day to ours. And zero a day from EU to the US, because that is clearly not a part of ME3 open skies deals or those of the EU as they are not an EU airline. Unless of course they are just using it as a fuel stop and not picking up new pax…which is exactly what they are doing.

The Fifth Freedom flight via Milan will most likely be the Face saving gesture by politicians to be shut down. Tim Clark has big plans for the US with an already announced 15 cities and more as he adds hundreds more A-380s.

Would love to see Emirates' expansion to the US limited. Another way they're making inroads is via freight. Heard they're loving the West Coast port strikes. Apparently they've secured freight deals with the Japanese automakers trying to get their parts to the US, along with other lucrative freight deals between US suppliers and big retail outfits. The US airlines need to get more expansionist themselves and they need to get more support from politicians and the greater business community.

Hopefully he goes bankrupt. Oh wait. Can't bankrupt a country now can we?

Effective September 15, EK will launch its 5th daily flight to JFK from DXB utilizing the A380. This flight will make a stopover in LHR and they have received fifth freedom rights between LHR-JFK-LHR.

LHR-JFK 1100 1335 EK 209
JFK-LHR 1800 0555 EK 210

President and CEO Tim Clark said on an interview with the DailyMail today, "this new flight to JFK will strengthen our New York operations to 5 daily flights and our transatlantic presence, but above all, it's a direct attack to the Big 3 US airlines... especially Delta."

I'm hearing rumours of NRT-LAX, SIN-LAX and taking over SYD-LAX from QF next year.

I'm hearing that the civil wars in the Mideast might spill over into the "M Rat" territories. Couldn't happen to a nicer group
