Statue of liberty fms fix
#42
Thanks for the info, I am asking for the fix just for SA or when ATC asks you to fly to the lady 30mi out with haze. I know all the old timer super pilots did it before with 0/0 vis smoking a cigar with a glass of scotch in the other hand. But me I like to have everything I can at my disposal.
I heard the old timer clearance was the bridge, the bltch, and the ditch. I blame Obama for that going away.

Somebody needs to 'splain to the far-east pilot wannabees flying out of Newnan-Coweta all about "visual" flight rules!
Just because the FAA put a GPS Approach fix right over my house, does NOT mean the junior flyboys have to use it to find the field all day and all night!!!
With 180 new Asiana pilots in training, it's getting ridiculous!
Oh, and the VFR entry into a VFR pattern is NOT a 90 degree angle!!!!!
Just sayin'................
Oh btw.....Smile, 'cuz you are being photo'd!!!! FAA wants pics!

"Oh, and the (suggested) VFR entry into a VFR pattern is NOT a 90 degree angle!!!!!"
You can enter the pattern however you want legally.
In fact 45 degree to the downwind isn't even the best choice sometimes.
VFR private pilot set up for a straight in on a night flight? I say make your call outs and land the plane if no one is in the pattern.
Better IMO (for a private pilot) that a disorienting overfly and descending 225 degree turn to set up for the 45 to the downwind...

Why would a 747 S/O need this info?

The controller responded with "cross where the tanks used to be at 2500' and you're cleared the Expressway visual to 31".
