Good morning,
So today's cartoon is interesting because I created it with a certain goal, but then I found out that it's being interpreted differently, which is always suprising and interesting. Letting go of how somebody interprets my cartoons is what actually allowed me to start drawing and writing them in the first place.
Yes, I will make a cartoon, and as long as it's a square of paper in front of me and eventually a file on my computer, then it's mine. BUT! as soon as I release it into the wilds of the world, well, then it becomes yours and how you view it through your own lens, biases and lived experience is now how you take ownership of it. I will always have my own intention for a cartoon, but I can't deny somebody else's interpretation. If I dwell on it too much it becomes intimidating. But I have to let it go and trust people. So here it is.

Thanks! That's kind of the goal is to recreate those habbits we had when every morning you'd turn to the funnies and scan your favorites, except this is only on Monday mornings and it might not be your favorite, but it's something! Hagar The Horrible, Beetle Bailey, Shoe and Ernie were my favorites.
Starting a 4 day stretch myself this morning, sending this one from my lappy in LAX. See ya'll out in the FL's.

That one hits kind of close to home... Some folks at brand S are being teased for picking up trips at straight time that *should* be easy premium pickups, and it turns out "everyone thinks" their spouses are bidding for them and they're just clueless in general why people are looking at them funny.
