I'd tell that guy where to go. If he wants me off because of that I'd gladly get off and let scheduling know I'm not on my DH.

I did have a company junpseater take a seat without stopping by and the FA handed me he form (we use a paper form) at the end of boarding. I went back to him and asked him for ALL his credentials. He got the hint. Never have run into that in 10 years.

I still think it's good professional courtesy to stop and say hi even when deadheading. But then again, I'm old school, not a millennium child of the magenta

But I would never, ever chide someone for not doing it.

Asked an American guy (former US airways) as a courtesy. Ho looked at his F/O, shook his head and blabbed I didn't have to ask. I told him I knew that and was trying to be nice. He then just shook his head and mumbled It was unnecessary.

I'm a regional puke, so scheduling would just jump on my **** if I pouted like a little ***** every time I got **** from someone's bruised ego.

With HR pulling the reins these days, I can not believe we run into these sorts of issues. Isn't there an algorithm to avoid this?

Children of the magenta was made in 1997, technically not a single millennial generation pilot was flying for any airline at that time.

Perfect.

He can do that all he wants. You aren't required to check in.

The only time I ever check in is when junpseating. Don't stop up front at all if deadheading or on positive space.

This particular captain came back to my seat just before push to give me the "Son, you need to....." speech. So I've just gotten in the habit of asking for the ride on deadheads as well. His hands were in his pockets the whole time so I'm not sure if he had a special ring I was supposed to kiss.

My response would be "cool story, I'm not jumpseating"
