Blah blah blah. Reality is in last 10 years most of those poor regional guys have moved on to legacies and are enjoying a good career. It's a tired line of logic to excuse 10 day off long haul flying. Heard that over and over from a few friends who went to ME3. Ten years later they all are either back or have apps in at US Legacies.
When scope is sold for short term gain, these are the end results.

I foresee a codeshare with Spirit or JetBlue moving forward. It could have the potential to change the landscape. These LCCs are the future, they will decimate the weaker legacys. UA and AA. DAL might be ok for a while but will still feel the pricing pressure on their int'l routes.
It's not so much the pilot costs they are saving, but the backend and under wing crews. I don't know what the other carriers pay their FAs but at AA there are probably 20,000 out of 24,000 topped out at $60/hr. That is ridiculous money for an FA. Ground crews make over $20/hr to load bags. Stupid money that should be paying close to min wage for unskilled labor.
These LCCs run a lean operation with point to point O&D markets cherry picking the best routes. Great business plan. NAI actually has nice aircraft and friendly staff. Reviews have been very positive.

You think a baggage handler is going to go work there for minimum wage when they could work for Spirit or JBLU for more? They will have to pay just as much for their labor as everyone else, except maybe for Pilots. I'm sure there are RJ pilots filling out applications right now. We are the only *****s in aviation.
It's not like it's still 2008.

I'm no fan of Norweigian, but this isn't a contract involving Bulgarians operating Moldovan registered aircraft under a shell corporation based in Gibraltar. They are aiming to hire American pilots, or at least those who have the legal right to work here, for flights to and from the USA and Europe. If you don't like the pay, don't apply.
If you do apply though, get the EASA medical first - the initial medical is a lot harder than a renewal.

I asked and it looks like the pay is $5,500/mo for FOs and $10,000/mo for CAs + $1,000 monthly per diem. I'm from the FLL area and it seems like a decent deal to me. Probably wouldn't commute in for this gig though, with only 10 days off per month.

I hope you're not serious? $10k/mo pre tax and pre deductions to be a 787 ca across an ocean is about as far from decent deal as you can get.

So no, it's not a good deal. At all.
