Sure the 787 contract will get enough esp since u can be a WB captain! Similar terms and far less pay for the 737 MAX; way slimmer pickings.

If those guys are willing to take $22 an hour to fly a crj in sure they'll take whatever to fly a 737.

According to all the bellyaching from regionals, there aren't enough of those guys around. Here's OSM's Euro 737 Capt requirements. https://www.webcruiter.no/WcMain/Adv...nk_source_id=0

5000 TT with 1000 737 and type. Only way to get that over here is 9/11 type of furlough event.

Not sure of the U.S. side, but these are the rates for the Europe contracts (based on today's exchange rates).

787 Captain- $11,200 per month
787 Relief Captain - $ $8,950 per month
787 First Officer - $6,700 per month

Just for comparison, WOW Air is paying their contract A320/A330 cross qualified captains approximately $9,200 per month. Eurowings (Lufthansa alter ego company) is paying A330 captains approximately $7,600 per month.

And the Polish carriers pay their pilots even less. The LCC Wizzair employs Eastern-European based pilots and pays a pittance to fly A320/21s. For them, flying Norwegian 737-MAX, A321NEOs or 787s across the Atlantic at those wages would be attractive - it is all RELATIVE...

Even Euro legacy pilots don't come close to making US legacy pilot wages with the exception of Lufthansa pilots. British Airways pilots don't come close to making UAL or Delta wages. Right or wrong, I doubt Norwegian will have problems finding qualified pilots from throughout Western and Eastern Europe willing to fly those airplanes at lower than legacy wage rates.

I have a neighbour who left his job as an A330/A340 captain for SAS to go to Norwegian. A friend of a friend has just left his job as an A330 captain for Aer Lingus to go to Norwegian. I do not know first hand the pay rates of Aer Lingus or SAS, but clearly they are not enough to keep their pilots from at least seriously looking at Norwegian.

OK their equipment is nicer but what I am always mortified by is our staff. Our unions have kept miserable flight attendants in the job who bid long haul for the schedule leading to the worst excuse for customer service going. Same goes for the gate staff.
You just can't compare how bad our customer service is to what the rest of the world offers.

For info US based 787 pay

$5,000 a month for FO
$7,000 a month for captain

Plus per diem.
Health insurance $400 a month

Sad that some guys will actually show up for that and sign a training bond too. Then try to pick up girls at night clubs with the "I'm an international jet pilot" line. Pathetic.

Since you are so eager to rip on US customer service, here is a sample from the gold standard. Sounds kind of like same clowns, different circus, no?

End the Embry ridiculous college tuition. Standardize the training and make it tough like military training used to be.
