That's funny Dolphin!

Being a pilot must be something that billionaires do for fun. How else can anyone that relies on a paycheck be so smug and secure with their position in life?

I'm going to have to step back and give some deep thought to the thought of an Asian woman in charge of regulating the quality of transportation in this country

Going back to the thread's title, people get what they voted for. She will be bad for labor (we are labor, no matter what airplane you're flying or how much money you're making), bad for unions (yes, we are union), and bad for all those uneducated, white people who voted for high paying (union) manufacturing jobs. My old man was a pilot at Delta. He retired almost 2 decades ago to give you relevance of our ages. He always voted Democrat and most pilots in his career gave him crap. I voted Republican, along with my older brother until 2004. My brother and I also gave him crap all through high school, college, etc. We had many, many discussions and arguments about ideology but the one thing he could've said that would have shut us both up...."See all this stuff? See this house? Cars? Vacations? Fantastic hunting adventures? Fishing trips? Enough money your mom could stay home and raise 4 kids so they didn't have to be raised in day care? Enough money so all 4 could go to college and have it all of it paid for? A union job paid for it. That's why I vote Democrat." Folks, the wealthy, and I mean ultra wealthy like Trump are laughing all the way to the bank while people like us fight over ideology. Concentration of wealth continues. I'm not a socialist, but I am for a strong middle class working under capitalism. I'm afraid we just accelerated the "Bernie Sanders" socialism that much quicker. We are labor, and nothing more. |

Dang, I think that's one of the best post I've read. Sums everything political about being a pilot in 2 sentences.

Everyone is labor.... It's called a damn job. Unions don't do much of anything for us. When 9-11 happened, they sure didn't save any pensions, nor did they save the decade which was lost by the industry. (Many of the mainline guys who were left with jobs were working for practically regional wages. Yeah-go union!) Unions used to control much of the manufacturing industry.... Until NAFTA was signed by the democrat hero-Bill freaking Clinton (after that ******* campaigned against it. And Bill had the gall to actually comment on the great number of good paying American jobs the agreement would create.) That agreement flushed tens of millions of jobs, and no one on the planet benefited from it unless they happened to be a dirtbag politician or some kind of corporate raider. People who think that the democrats are any kinder than republicans to the working folks are just foolish. All politicians are lying sacks of ****. Trying to pretend either side gives a rat about any of us is just retarded. |

Just curious what do you think your pay check would look like without the union? Thx
I'm not saying that airline unions are useless. Some good comes from them. I am saying that politicians are all total lying POSs, and one party is just as eager to screw unionized airline labor as the other. |

Were you recently in traffic encountering DWO?
Nope, but if I was on the Committee for her hearing, I'd set up a couple of road cones in front of the Capitol steps, spring an unannounced parallel parking test for her in a new Escalade. If she passes, I'd confirm her and head to a good Georgetown bar and drink $300/bottles scotch on the K Street lobbyists tab. (I would burn those bastad's for so much stuff and they'd get nothin in return) :D Let's take a wild guess as to how well the test will go. |
