What kind of domestic network does NAI expect to setup within the US to feed their cheap international flights? A lot of their business model relies on them flying into secondary airports meaning their passengers have to be within driving distance. The US airlines still benefit from a domestic network that isn't currently available to NAI.

It's called capitalism....Norwegian offers a good, solid product, on new aircraft, for a good price. They are highly rated on customer review sites unlike AA, DAL, and UA. There is a reason people continue to purchase on them, and not us.

Believe me, I'm anti-NAI and I hope to God it gets shot down by Trump and his anti-globalization administration. I'm just saying that to become a real and hardcore threat to well-paying legacy wide-body jobs, there are going to have to be a lot of pieces that fall into place. |
I still wonder if some companies saw this coming, eg, United.
Deferred significant aircraft orders. Instead of competing for low-yield vacation travellers on NAI, has made significant investment in premium service with Polaris. To try and fill the back of the plane, they have the new Economy Minus (forget what it's really called). It might work, if schedule, cabin service, and inflight wifi reliability hold steady or improve. My only major criticism these days is poor wifi, which almost never works on the 767-300 (not United's fault; it is Panasonic). |
Squash them like Laker.

It's no different than what the legacy carriers are doing by using "Regional" airlines. Which in reality are just low cost contract carriers used to circumvent having to pay more mainline personnel the union negotiated rates.

This is HLARIOUS! Most mainline guys didn't give a damn about the thousands of regional guys making 1/3 of what they do for doing the SAME EXACT JOB for the last 20 years as long as it kept their pockets lined. Where was the uproar about "low paying aviation jobs" then? It's only now, when they feel that THEIR checkbooks are threatened, the is sky falling. Karmas a ***** aint it fellas? |
