Plus,

The Compass pilots were interviewed by NWA to get the job. They have a ton of experience (all previous captains) who took a chance on Compass cuz of the flow up.

It will be interesting to see how that shakes out when the joint contract is completed.

Unless you really don't think furloughs were a possibility at a stand alone DAL. Is that what you believe? Even though DAL made a big splash of cutting thousands of jobs and reducing capacity - still no furloughs? DAL hiring to stop in May - still no furlough concern?

Carl,
Everything you said above is 100% correct - but it is my scenario and thats how I choose to set it up. Of course it can flipped around but it is still correct. By the way I think furloughs are possible if not probable at both companies but I still think the junior NW guys are at greater risk.
Anyway our MEC chairman just put out a memo and maybe we will some positive information for both pilot groups.

Wrong. The NWA pilots also funded COBRA coverage for their furloughees.

As the length increases, so does the BS factor. That had all the trappings of one of those miles long postings from the RJDC.

I wonder how much more of that screed is BS.

I think the point on Cobra coverage was the DALPA was the first union to ever offer and pay for it. Several other airlines followed with coverage in the slowdown in the mid 90's and most followed after 2001.

I would use the term 'ton of experience' loosely. I know, because I worked there before going to CAL. Those planes should've been on NWA property from the get-go, but that's another thread from a long time ago. And I would be careful to say that the pilots at Compass are there because of the flow up. I'm willing to bet many of them will be lifers there if circumstances warrant. (many locals who were tired of commuting) Of course, aren't we all just chasing some good QOL?
