Not from where I'm sitting it doesn't. As a Jr SWA FO, I'd get a small boost in seniority on DOH, but have a bunch of younger guys injected into the system above me who will change the demographics of the entire list above me.
If I ever make Captain, I'll never get off reserve as all those younger dudes will never retire.
You must be looking at the top guys only. Who cares what happens to the most senior capt's (on either side). Somehow they always seem to do well no matter what.

History lesson :
The very early FedEx folks all had to buy Falcon DA20 ratings....stopped in late 1970's. 4500 subsequent hires resulted in no paybacks to the early guys.
The late 1980's purchase/merger of Flying Tiger, and the subsequent SLI arbitration didn't even mention pay-for-training.

Wow, thats one big picture 80. Hey, maybe we can have like a PM between 80 and I about picture findings and that way thats your drift to keep this in the majors.
